Aan de Oudeweg 120 in Hulshorst staat het Woudhuis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHet Woudhuis\u201d is in 1928 gebouwd als seizoens-pension.
Van april tot en met oktober werden toeristen ontvangen die voor de rust en de schoonheid van de Veluwse natuur kwamen.
“Het Woudhuis” ligt dan ook midden in de Hierdense Poort en 300 meter van het ecoduct waar iedere nacht edelherten van het natuurgebied Hulshorster Zand naar de graslanden van het gebied rondom de Killenbeek komen grazen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tijdens de 2e wereldoorlog is “Het Woudhuis” door de bezetter nog korte tijd gebruikt als uitvalsbasis, terwijl honderd meter verderop achter de schildershut \u201cDe Schuilhoek\u201d onderduikers lagen verstopt in het bos. Deze schildershut die de relatie met het kunstenaarsdorp Nunspeet weergeeft is onlangs verloren gegaan, maar de realatie “Woudhuis”\/”Schuilhoek”\/natuur en kunst is er natuurlijk nog steeds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De functie pension van Het Woudhuis heeft in de jaren ’70 eerst plaatsgemaakt voor een oudedagvoorziening en later is Het Woudhuis gebruikt als RIBW instelling (Regionale Instelling voor Beschermd Wonen).
Het Woudhuis ligt half geschakeld nabij het “Station Hulshorst”. Alwaar het gedicht van Gerrit Achterberg prijkt op de gevel.
Het Stationshuis is thans in gebruik als woning. Vanuit “Het Woudhuis” loopt u direct de Veluwse bossen in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
